We are experts regarding Texas Medicare Advantage Plans.

Medicare Advantage Plans are options that come directly from the Medicare program. They can offer additional benefits and lower copays than Original Medicare. Let us help you determine the best options for the coverage to which you are entitled.

What are Medicare Advantage Plans?

Medicare Advantage Plans are another way to get your Medicare Part A and Part B coverage. Medicare Advantage Plans, sometimes called “Part C” or “MA Plans,” are offered by Medicare-approved private companies that must follow rules set by Medicare. In addition, most Medicare Advantage Plans include drug coverage (Part D). Most of these plans are managed care plans that fall under the HMO or PPO categories. What this means is that you may need to see doctors who work within that plan, and choose in-plan hospitals and providers as well.

A brief outline of what this type of plan includes:

  • Medicare Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs)
  • Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO)
  • Medicare Special Needs Plans
  • Private Fee-for-Service Plans

Eligibility & Joining

To join a Medicare Advantage plan, you’ll need to have Medicare Part A and Part B, and continue paying your monthly Part B premium to Medicare. You may also have a monthly premium for that Advantage plan to access the extra benefits. Medicare does limit when you can join, switch, or drop an Advantage plan.
